Gabriel's First Cereal

Last weekend Gabriel had his first solid (semi-solid) food, rice cereal. He loved it and gobbled it all up!

Happy Thanksgiving Stew

On the Friday after Thanksgiving it is a Johns family tradition to make a brunswick stew and celebrate with all of our friends and family. Gabriel got a turn to stir too.

I'm 5 months old!

Gabriel turned 5 months on 11/23, the day before Thanksgiving. It's hard to remember what life was like before we had him, we are so thankful!

Happy Halloween!

Gabriel was a pea in a pod for his first Halloween! He also had several cute Halloween outfits too!

I'm 4 months old

On 10/23 Gabriel turned 4 months old! We were in Seattle that weekend, I had a big work trip and we were very lucky that Gabe could take off work and my boys could go too. We took Gabriel down to Pike's Place Market, which was awesome! He loved all of the people watching, the beautiful flowers, flying fish and he went to his first brewery - The Pike.

Last week Gabriel had his 4 month doctor's appointment and he is 16 lbs 13 oz and 25 1/2 inches long! Such a big boy! Head size is 75-90% for his age, he is representing the Benson name well:)

Fall Fun

Last weekend we went to Knoxville for the UT/GA football game. Gabriel got to see all of his cousins and got lots of lovin' from Aunt Jen and Auntie M.

There's a new sheriff in town

We dressed Gabriel up in a cute little outfit for his first trip to the pumpkin patch.

It's Fall Ya'll

A few weekends ago we took Gabriel to his first pumpkin patch, just down the road at Hicklen Farms in Nolensville. We got lots of pumpkins, mums and Indian corn. He is a little too young to get down and play in the pumpkins, but we tried anyway.

My first jog

Really just Gabriel's first pair of jogging shoes. This was the first time I put shoes on him and he didn't mind at all. This picture makes me laugh, because he looks like he just got back from a jog.

3 months

I'm 3 months old! This is a picture of me on 9/23, my 3 month birthday.

Gabriel's 1st beach trip

We are down in Seagrove Beach, FL this week, taking a long family vacation before I go back to work. This is Gabriel's first beach trip, we are staying with his Poppa & Nina (Gabe's dad and step-mom) who live down here. Gabriel did great on his first long road trip and loves being here! He even likes being on the beach:) even though he sleeps the whole time he's out there. We have taken him on a few early morning walks in the carrier and he has setup camp underneath our tailgate tent as well.

We have a thumb sucker

I have been wondering if Gabriel will suck his thumb, like his cousins who love it so much. He had gotten his thumb and part of his fist in his mouth a few times, but just for a few seconds. The other day he was chasing his thumb (as Gabe and I call it) and he got it in his mouth and sucked it for several minutes. He has gotten it a few time since then. I don't know why, but I think it is the sweetest thing!

September 3rd was Gabriel's first TN Game Day! And the Vols had a victory. Here's to a great season and many years of cheering on the Vols to come.

As of 8/26/2011, 2 months and 3 days old: Gabriel Paul Benson Jr weights in at 11 lbs 14 oz and 23 inches long. He is 50 percentile across the board in weight, length and head circumference. The doctor said he is "perfect" but we already knew that:) Here is a cute picture of him and Daddy. He is smiling all the time now, it is the most precious sight!

2 months!

Gabriel turned two months old this week on 8/23! We are going for his two month doctors appointment on Friday morning, where we will find out how big he has gotten and where he will get several shots:( Stay tuned for his stats.

My cousin Brooks

Gabriel's cousins Brooks just loves him so much! We went and visited the Chandlers last weekend and Brooks was so sweet to Gabriel. He loved to hold him and gave him his pacifier whenever he cried, he also helped him do tummy time and showed him it wasn't that bad:)

My first Braves game!

We went to the game with the Chandlers, it was Auntie M's 30th birthday! It was a great game and the Braves won. We decided that we will make it a tradition to go to a Braves game every year with the Chandlers!

On Gabriel's 8 week birthday we took him to his first Atlanta Braves game. It was a blast and Gabriel was so good, he slept the whole time:)

I'm 6 weeks old today

Family

We had a full house this weekend and Gabriel got to meet more of his family. His uncle Frank came to visit from Baltimore. Auntie M brought cousins Brooks and Hatcher too, they were so excited to meet baby Gabriel. It's hard to get 3 smalls children to sit still for a photo, but we got them in the backseat:) 2 asleep, one awake.

Play Time

Gabriel loves his little play gym. We have been working on tummy time he doesn't love that as much. He's getting better at it though, he's gotta work on those neck muscles to hold that Benson head up.
